Tips on staying safe from internet scammers

Unfortunately scammers target job seeker so you must be diligent with your safety!

99% of internet users are genuine, it is the 1% you need to watch out for.

REMEMBER If it seems too good to be true it probably is!

To avoid falling into the trap of a phony employer find out as much as you can about person(s) before taking up a position. E.g. if you are a nanny find out the family’s home address, name and ages of children.

Always meet prospective employers face to face. Never accept a job from a person you have not met who says they are overseas and offer to pay you prior to your meeting them. This sounds too good to be true and it is!

NEVER provide your bank account details when applying for a job. This is only necessary after you have interviewed in person, accepted the job offer and actually started working.

NEVER disclose your personal address to anyone over the internet.

You can help findababysitter.com stop scammers by reporting any persons who request your bank account details in advance of employment. You can report this via our contact form here.
